3D Objects – Shadowbox
Artistic Picture Framing
RUBBER MOLD
Our client discovered this rubber mold of her beloved father among his belongings after he passed away. It arrived at us in an oxidized condition, so we cleaned it and applied a smooth, even coating. We are pleased to be able to create a high-quality keepsake for his family. We constructed a 3-inch-tall shadow box in pure walnut, featuring a fillet and mounted on a fabric mat. To ensure it remains anti-reflective, we used museum glass for the display.
TEA BAG DRESS
At first glance, you might think these are dried flowers; however, this artwork is made from used tea bags. To highlight every detail, we mounted it on a silk background and created walls using a gold silk mat and fillet to enhance the metallic embellishments. The piece is displayed in a warm walnut cap box frame that matches the fillet, and we used museum-grade acrylic to ensure everything remains sharp and anti-static.
ANTIQUE TURKISH KNIFE
Shadow box with a suede red mat and museum glass. Kept the design simple on the frame with a Black cap frame and gold Beaded Fillet.
BEADED HEAD PIECE
An acrylic box we created to display the "all-bead headpiece" using a double design frame and linen mat as the base.
AFRICAN TRIBE WEAPONS
We personally wrapped it in off-white burlap. It measures 6 feet in width and 30 inches in height, featuring a walnut cap frame for added depth and Optium acrylic for preservation.
SCULPTURE
For this shadowbox, we used a simple white cap with a yellow trim and white continuous "shadow walls" to let this artistic piece tell its story without overdoing it.
CARNIVAL HEADDRESS
We created a 5 inch deep black shadowbox with an extension for this Carnival Headdress allowing the elaborate bead and feather detailings to flow nicely behind the linen blue mat, used that same rich blue as the shadow walls, and museum glass to protect the intricate headdress from UV rays.
MAASAI JEWELRY + WALKING STICK
We used a sewing method to float mount both the jewelry pieces and the walking stick, ensuring that no damage occurred to the fabric mat. A walnut cap frame was created to form shadowbox walls, providing the necessary depth to prevent the pieces from touching the acrylic. We utilized Optium museum acrylic to protect and preserve the items.
